  • to offer graduate students in the areas of business, education, history, mathematics, and theology the opportunity not only to enhance their professional development but also to develop their ethical and aesthetic values through community service;
  • to assist students in their advancement and application of knowledge through study and research, so that they may disseminate the results among scholars and the general public;
  • to attract and retain eminent faculty in order to provide the highest quality of instruction and leadership; and
  • to expand graduate learning opportunities for all persons.

The Providence Alliance for Catholic Teachers (PACT)

In addition to its traditional graduate degree programs, in 2001 the College inaugurated the Providence Alliance for Catholic Teachers (PACT) in partnership with the University of Notre Dame and Catholic dioceses throughout New England. This program is a member of the University Consortium for Catholic Education, with 15 other similar programs in Catholic colleges and universities in the USA. This two-year program allows a student to complete, at no cost, master’s-level teacher-preparation courses leading to the master of education degree, while at the same time making a significant contribution as a full-time faculty member of an inner-city New England catholic diocesan elementary, middle school (grades 5-8) or high school.

The PACT program is designed for recent, single college graduates of liberal arts or education programs.

Liberal arts majors pursue master’s degree studies leading to initial certification in secondary education in a specific content area. Education majors pursue master’s degree studies leading to certification in special education, literacy, school counseling and school leadership. Members of the program live in intentional, faith based communities.

Certificate of Graduate Studies in Financial Markets and Services

Offered in partnership with the New England College of Finance, the Financial Markets and Services Program offers professionals of financial institutions, who may not wish to currently pursue the MBA degree, an opportunity to complete a series of graduate-level courses and receive a graduate certificate. This program benefits career professionals and practitioners who may want to update their current business background by taking courses or those who are limited in their time of study and may not be able to pursue the MBA degree. Students completing the program receive a graduate certificate in financial markets and services. For more information, contact the graduate business program office at 401.865.2333.
