NSC 255 - The Solar System

3 Credits

Astronomy is the oldest and still most popular branch of science. Since earliest times, mankind has been fascinated by topics that astronomers still explore today: the creation of the universe and formation of our solar system and the nature and motion of the stars. A brief historical introduction is followed by a more detailed study of our solar system, different types of stars, stellar evolution, galaxies, the structure and formation, quasars, black holes, and the origin and evolution of our universe.
