MSC 216 - Music in the Age of Enlightenment

A study of the development of the music of the Classical period within the context of the late 18th century European society, with special emphasis on the lives and the works of Haydn, Mozart, early Beethoven, and on the development of the sonata, symphony, the opera, the concerto, and chamber works.
