HIS 688 - History of the Presidency, 1789-1901 3 Credits
Examines the development of the American presidency from its constitutional origins through the end of William McKinley’s administration. Focuses on the administrations and presidential elections of this period as well as how the office of president changed over the nineteenth century. Emphasis placed on the administrations of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Jackson, and Lincoln.
