SOC 430 - Gender, Health, and Technology

This course investigates the structures and practices of commercialized medicine in the United States today as a framework of meaning-making about the body. How do the intersecting processes and outcomes of commercialized medicine, inclusive of medical marketing and direct-to-consumer advertising, inform contemporary understandings and lived realities of health and illness, race and gender, aging and sexuality?
