PHL 430 - Phenomenology


1 semester, 3 Credits (Philosophy Core)

Students will encounter both the descriptive method and the Continental European philosophical tradition that bear the name “phenomenology.” Begins with the foundation of phenomenology in the early 20th-century works of Edmund Husserl, then moves either chronologically or thematically from Husserl’s works through other key texts in the tradition, highlighting those of Heidegger and Merleau-Ponty.
