Minor

The Communication Minor includes six 3-credit courses plus a one-credit capstone seminar (total of 19 credits) in order to give students an overview of the field of communication, based in the liberal arts tradition of critical, cross-disciplinary thinking. The minor offers courses including the practical and theoretical aspects of spoken, written, and visual communication, an internship/independent studies course, and a final group seminar whose main purpose is to reflect upon the internship/independent study and synthesize new understandings of those projects in the context of the minor as a whole. Students will learn to recognize the significance of various communication practices in interpreting historical and contemporary human behavior, cultural production, and societal norms.
Please Note: All requirements, eligibility, and course numbers will be finalized by Fall 2021.
