ENG 219 - The American Novel on Film

3 Credits

In this class, we will read and view critically acclaimed versions of novels by some of America’s greatest authors: Nathaniel Hawthorne, Willa Cather, Ken Kesey, John Steinbeck, Edith Wharton, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and others, as time permits. We will focus on authors whose works represent a particular period in American literature—from the romantic to the post-modern. Prerequisite: Basic writing course or permission of instructor.
