COM 201 - Media and Society

This course will explore how communications media influence our lives and change our society. Students will critically examine the impact of various media, including social media, film, television, the internet, advertising, and news media. There will be case studies of specific topics, e.g. media coverage of wars, violence, the stereotyping of minorities, etc.
