This course will explore the responsibilities imposed on schools by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the resulting liabilities when the requirements of this act are ignored or not properly implemented. Discussion will include an overview of the Act, an explanation of the procedural requirements for schools, a general comparison with the IDEA, best practices, and common pitfalls to avoid.
