EDU 741 - Enhancing Science Teaching in the Elementary Classroom

This is a course designed for a wide variety of teachers of science—from entering classroom teachers, to experienced classroom teachers, to science specialists. The major thrust and emphasis of this course is the melding of recent advances in research concerning science education and the implementation of the wide range of standards circulating in the elementary classroom. The class will be utilizing a pedagogical-content approach. That is, what do elementary science students need to know, and how do teachers approach learning?
