ENG 209 - Young Adult Literature 3 Credits
Short stories, plays, and novels will provide the foundation to study adolescents’ sense of self, their perceptions of community and others, and how they negotiate meaning. Through reflective writing, book talks, and collaborative activities, students will examine the social issues found in young adult literature and will gain an understanding of today’s adolescents and the communities in which they live. Fulfills SCE Teamwork and Collaboration core requirement. (Fulfills Middle School Endorsement requirement.) Prerequisite: Basic writing course or permission of instructor.
