EDU 855 - The Research on and Impact of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

3 credits-

An evidence-based introduction to social and emotional learning (SEL), the RI SEL standards, trauma-informed teaching, and creating a supportive learning environment in support of all children. Participants will review research and implementation data to recognize the importance and impact of SEL standards, demonstrate developmentally-appropriate activities that apply SEL standards, and articulate the need for SEL programs in schools.
