A study of the compounds of carbon utilizing a problem-oriented approach both in lecture and laboratory that emphasizes the use of spectroscopic methods. For chemistry and biochemistry majors. Not open to students with credit in CHM 201 or CHM 202. Lectures 3 hours, laboratory 4 hours.

Prerequisites: CHM 201 or CHM 221.
