EDU 231 - Teaching Literacy in Elementary Schools

1 semester, 4 credits-

Students in this course learn systematic, explicit, evidence-based instruction techniques for teaching literacy (reading, writing, spelling). Students learn to analyze and adapt High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) as well as to write differentiated lesson plans for all learners. Assessments used to support instruction are introduced. A field experience in an elementary school is required.
