PSP 101 - Introduction to Civic & Community Engagement 1 semester, 3 credits- Core Foundation/Proficiency: Civic Engagement
This course examines the theory and practice of civic and community engagement in the United States and globally. Students analyze the meanings of concepts, such as service, community, and democracy, considering various approaches to engagement. They develop an action plan integrating community practice with academic learning. Engagement may include volunteering, walking tours, site visits, and learning with local experts.
Open to Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors only.
