NUR 306 - Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing 1 Semester, 5 Credits
Covers nursing care of individuals with psychiatric disorders and evaluates the techniques of therapeutic communication and the nurse’s role in providing compassionate care using the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model. Students evaluate psychopharmacological and psychosocial treatment modalities and integrate interprofessional collaboration, patient education and advocacy, and relevant legal, ethical and cultural issues.
Nursing majors only. Prerequisites: PSY 100, NUR 301, & NUR 302.
