1 Semester, 3 credits- Core Foundation/Proficiency: Theology 300-level

Explores the underlying theological thought of the Catholic author J.R.R. Tolkien, principally through his works, “The Silmarillion,” “TheHobbit,” and “The Lord of the Rings” (LOTR). Tolkien once called LOTR “a fundamentally Catholic work.” This course shall thereby seek to bring to light the Catholic imagination or Catholic vision that one finds exhibited in Tolkien’s writings.
