HIS 363 - Genocide in the Modern World 1 Semester, 3 Credits
What is genocide? Why does it occur? Why was the twentieth century such a bloody one? In this class, we will investigate cases of genocide from different continents. We will delve into broader questions about modernity, state-sponsored violence, ideology, collaboration, resistance, revenge, memory, and the elusive nature of justice for a crime that defies the imagination.
