COM 320 - Media Industries in a Global Network


1 Semester, 3 Credits

Provides a framework for understanding the history, organization, and global interconnectedness of media technologies, with attention to how these structures shape lived experiences of audiences and consumers. The influence of digitization, globalization, audience fragmentation, monetization structures, and labor relations are discussed, alongside industrial features of sectors including film, television, popular music, publishing, and social media.
