EDU 600 - Assessment for English Language Learners

This course examines and practices procedures to accurately and authentically assess student learning in English as a Second Language (ESL) contexts. Course participants are presented with key concepts of assessment, including assessment as socially and culturally constructed experience, four-language skills assessment, standards and standardized testing, and technology-based assessment. An emphasis is placed on understanding identification and placement tools used in the state of Rhode Island.
