The Major
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers programs of study leading to the degrees of bachelor of science in chemistry, bachelor of arts in chemistry, and bachelor of science in biochemistry.
The B.A. and B.S. programs may also be combined with a variety of other academic minors and majors including biology, mathematics, and business studies.
Participation in an undergraduate research project guided by members of the faculty is strongly encouraged in all programs during the junior year, the summer after the junior year, and the senior year. Research is conducted within the College’s facilities or at a variety of research institutions across the United States. The results of these original research projects are often presented by students at regional and national meetings of professional societies.
