Liberal Studies
The liberal studies program recognizes individual needs and interests of students by allowing all course work beyond the Core Curriculum to reflect elective choices. This program provides students with a broad degree of flexibility so that students may tailor their studies to their goals or interests. Students may combine the Liberal Studies degree with certificate programs to create an individualized program that suits their career goals. Those with large numbers of transfer credits outside the core requirements are best accommodated in this program. Requirements for the associate of arts degree in Liberal Studies
I. Required Core Courses: 42 credit hours
English: including two courses in writing and one course in literature 12 Credits
History and social sciences: 9 Credits
Science 3 Credits
Philosophy: one course must be in the area of ethics 6 Credits
Theology 6 Credits
Fine arts 3 Credits
Mathematics 3 Credits II. Electives: 18 credit hours
