This interdisciplinary program allows students to design an individualized major combining courses from any two or three social science areas depending on the student’s interests and career plans.
The major requires a minimum of 12 courses selected from two or three of the following disciplines, with a minimum of three courses in at least one area: anthropology, economics, history, political science, psychology, and sociology. (Classes in social work and law do not qualify.) These 12 courses must include Introduction to Sociology and a social science theory course.

Requirements for the bachelor of arts degree
A minimum of 24 credits must be upper division (300 or 400-level) coursework within the entire degree program. I. Core Curriculum Requirements: 42 credit hours

Perspectives on Western Civilization 9 Credits Philosophy: one ethics and one other course 6 Credits Theology: one 200-level and one 300-level course 6 Credits Science 3 Credits Social Science 3 Credits* Quantitative Reasoning: MTH 217, Statistics 3 Credits Fine Arts 3 Credits Intensive Writing 6 Credits Oral Communication 3 credits Proficiencies: Diversity, Civic/Global Engagement, Information Literacy, Collaboration and Teamwork *can be fulfilled through major course II.
