This interdisciplinary program allows students to design an individualized major combining courses from any two or three social science areas depending on the student’s interests and career plans.
The major requires a minimum of 12 courses selected from two or three of the following disciplines, with a minimum of three courses in at least one area: economics, history, political science, psychology, and sociology. (Classes in social work and law do not qualify.) There are four required courses, including an introductory course in one of the above fields, a research methods course, and a cornerstone and capstone course.

I. Core Curriculum Requirements: 42 credit hours

Perspectives on Western Civilization 9 Credits
Philosophy: one ethics and one other course 6 Credits
Theology: one 200-level and one 300-level course 6 Credits
Science 3 Credits
Social Science 3 Credits*
Quantitative Reasoning: MTH 217, Statistics 3 Credits
Fine Arts 3 Credits
Intensive Writing 6 Credits
Oral Communication 3 credits
Proficiencies: Diversity, Civic/Global Engagement, Information Literacy, Collaboration and Teamwork
*can be fulfilled through major course
II. Social Science Major: 36 credit hours
III. Free Electives: 42 credit hours
A minimum of 24 credits must be upper division (300 or 400-level) coursework within the entire degree program.
