Degree Requirements
The Master’s degree requires the minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and the completion of 10 courses, which consist of three components:

Course offerings are designed so that most students can complete the program within two years. Generally, four courses are offered in each semester, and a few more courses in summer sessions.
Joint Teacher Certification and Master of Education in Mathematics
The Program
This program is designed to provide those with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, or a closely related field, to obtain grades 7-12 mathematics teaching certificate as well as a Master’s of Education degree in Mathematics.
Degree Requirements
The Master’s degree requires the completion of the Teacher Certification Program (TCP) in the School of Continuing Education and the completion of 5 graduate mathematics courses. Click here for more information about the TCP requirements.
The TCP portion of program consists of 6 graduate courses plus student teaching, while the M.Ed. Math portion consists of 5 graduate courses.
Students should complete the graduate-level TCP program coursework first so as to gain certification and a middle/secondary teaching position, and then complete the math coursework to earn the Masters degree.
