Graduate Certificate in Sports Management

Sports Management Certificate 

The Sports Management Certificate Program was developed based on industry feedback. It is a 3-course, 9-credit-hour certificate designed to be taught by PC faculty recognized as experts in their fields. The courses in this certificate give students both the theory and understanding of sports management.  

The Sports Management Graduate Certificate Program develops the management knowledge and skills needed to lead sports organizations and businesses that serve and interact with them. These courses provide students with a focused, foundational education in the management, marketing, history, and leadership of sports business at the professional and collegiate levels. 

Participants in this program will: 

• Understand the interaction among multiple facets of the sports business industry 
• Identify and assess potential issues and opportunities for the industry 
• Learn how sports-related organizations serve their multiple constituencies 

Timeline of Required Courses:

Fall - MBA 692 Business of Collegiate Sports  
Winter - MBA 693 Business of Professional Sports  
Spring - MBA 770 Special Topics [Elective]

Students needing work experience should complete a 300 hour sports-business related internship.
