English To Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) K-12 Certification

The ESOL certification program is composed of six required courses, each as a 3-credit course for a total of 18-credits. In addition to the course-embedded assessments, candidates in the program are expected to take and pass the Praxis ESOL 5362 test, receive a grade of C or higher in all classes, complete a 45-hour clinical practicum/field experience in an elementary or secondary level ESL classroom across public schools in Rhode Island as part of requirements in the EDU 669 course as well as receive passing scores on the clinical observations for EL students.
