Spanish minor for the Health Professions

Minor
The Spanish minor for the Health Professions consists of 18 (eighteen) credits.
|
A. 2 (two) or 3 (three) required 3-credit courses
2 (two) or 3 (three) required 3-credit courses (SPN 110, SPN 111, and SPN 214) at Providence College depending on one’s level of Spanish (or the equivalent of the course taken abroad*):
- A student may begin with SPN 111 if they placed into SPN 104 or 201 on the Spanish placement exam but will need to add an additional 3-credit internship or Special Topics course to complete the minor.
B. 1 (one) required 3-credit internship
1 (one) required 3-credit internship (SPN 450) that can be done locally or abroad*:
- SPN 450 - Internship in Hispanic Studies 3 credits-
- Participate in the established programs at:
- Clínica Esperanza/Hope Clinic (85 Eagle St., Providence RI), or
- Rhode Island Free Clinic (655 Broad St, Providence, RI), or
- Internship abroad*
C. 6 (six) or 9 (nine) elective credits
6 (six) or 9 (nine) elective credits (SPN 370, 450, or 490) that can be fulfilled locally or abroad* with any combination of the following:
