Minor
Global Studies at Providence College offers an interdisciplinary exploration of globalization and its effects upon communities, environmental sustainability, and the dignity of all living things. By emphasizing collaborative learning, participatory research, community engagement, activism, and cross-cultural competency, the minor complements any area of student, enabling students to demonstrate a passion for international affairs, along with the sets of skills to solve global problems.
The study of globalization takes on new meaning given the interconnectedness of the world, along with the growing number of social, political, economic, and cultural challenges. The minor cultivates global citizens who think intentionally and are equipped to respond to these challenges with inspiration, integrity, and resourcefulness.
The Global Studies minor offers a great deal of flexibility, requiring students to complete eighteen credits (18) of course work beginning with GST 101 Introduction to Global Studies.
