Master of Arts in Catholic Theology and Culture

The Master of Arts in Catholic Theology and Culture is designed for those who are interested in exploring the intersection between Catholic thought and doctrine, and every aspect of culture. It is interdisciplinary, and seeks to introduce students to Catholic themes, perspectives, symbols and expressions a variety of fields. The curriculum requires core classes in Catholic Theology and Culture (CTH), and theology proper (THL), as well as a series of thematic distribution requirements, electives, and a final capstone experience.

 

The course of study is as follows:

  • THL/CTH 5xx Incarnation and Culture: A Survey of the Catholic Tradition, I (3 credits)
  • THL/CTH 5xx Incarnation and Culture: A Survey of the Catholic Tradition, II (3 credits)
  • THL/CTH 6xx Cultivating the Catholic Imagination (3 credits)
  • THL 6xx Scripture (Introduction to the Bible) (3 credits)
  • THL/CTH 600-level elective in Catholic Intellectual Tradition
  • THL/CTH 600-level elective in Beauty and Aesthetics in the Catholic Tradition
  • 600-level elective in Theology
  • 600-level Open elective
  • 600-level Open elective
  • 700/800- level Capstone
