EDU 622 - Reading in the Content Area

3 Credits

Examines strategies for addressing literacy skills in the content area classroom. The main areas covered are: the reading process, vocabulary, comprehension, assessment, study skills, writing, and discussion skills as they advance the student’s ability to read textbooks and supplementary materials. Attention is paid to the needs of a diverse student population and the role that technology plays in the classroom.
