COM 230 - Media Mirrors Technologies of Representation

1 Semester, 3 credits-

Introduces theoretical models for understanding issues related to representation, identity, and diversity in media throughout the 20th century through our contemporary moment. Analysis of how magazines, television, digital media, and other texts present individuals and social groups aids understanding of the role of communication platforms in envisioning and empowering ourselves and others. Prior or concurrent enrollment in COM 100 required.
