Liberal Studies
The liberal studies major recognizes individual needs and interests of students by allowing all course work beyond the Core Curriculum to reflect elective choices. This program provides students with a broad degree of flexibility so that students may tailor their studies to their goals or interests. Students may combine the Liberal Studies degree with certificate programs to create an individualized program that suits their career goals. Those with large numbers of transfer credits outside the core requirements are best accommodated in this major. Requirements for the associate of arts degree in Liberal Studies
I. Required Core Courses:
English: including two courses in writing and one course in literature 12 Credits History and social sciences: one course selected in the upper division (300 level or above) 9 Credits Science 3 Credits Philosophy: one of two philosophy courses must be in the area of ethics 6 Credits Theology 6 Credits Fine arts 3 Credits Mathematics 3 Credits II. Electives: 15 credit hours
