Pre-Health Professions Certificate

The School of Continuing Education Pre-Health Professions Certificate is designed for college graduates who wish to prepare for graduate study in a health care profession, but who did not take the required coursework as part of their undergraduate program. The program provides most of the prerequisite science and math courses for admission to schools in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, physician assistant, physical therapy, and other allied health professions.
This program is not designed for students who graduated from a pre-health studies undergraduate program who seek to repeat pre-requisite courses in order to improve their academic records. Admissions standards require an undergraduate cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Requirements for the certificate program
The certificate requires a minimum of twenty-four hours of credit, with six hours of possible transfer credit. The specific program of study would be determined by the student’s professional goals and the requirements of the intended program.
