EDU 832 - Evidence-Based Practices in Middle/Secondary Literacy Instruction 3 credits-
Using structured literacy practices that support the development of background knowledge, vocabulary and reading comprehension, this course prepares candidates to work with struggling readers at the middle and secondary levels. Candidates discuss theoretical models of reading in relation to secondary learners and consider the neurobiological differences that field placement students present when addressing the literacy needs of these students.
