EDU 550 - Fundamentals of Special Education


3 credits-

Introduces the terminology, identification, and issues encountered when addressing the needs of students with disabilities. Emphasis is placed on inclusion, diversity, federal and state legislative mandates pertinent to nondiscriminatory assessments, parental involvement, individualized education programs; and professional practice in special education. The course addresses the collaborative roles of a multidisciplinary approach to supporting children with disabilities in a diverse society.
